Concrete Septic Tanks – Eco-Friendly

The use of concrete septic tanks is considered by many to be the optimal choice for your on-site sewage disposal or septic system installation. Our team of licensed designers and installers at Sunset Construction believe this as well which is why we use concrete tanks almost exclusively in all our systems. One reason for example, the tank itself is very heavy and will be less likely to float once installed and filled with water or effluent. A septic tank is something you surely don’t want popping up in your yard.

Although tanks are less expensive when made from plastic or fiberglass they are also much weaker and susceptible to being damaged during install. Precast concrete is said to gain in strength throughout the years while plastic and fiberglass both will deteriorate over time. In addition, the tanks are watertight, durable, and stronger in general. Composite, plastic, or fiberglass tanks may break or collapse more easily if driven over. Overall, concrete is superior as it is a more permanent and environmentally safe green product.
